Sandy Evason's Holywell Spiritual Centre

Sandy's welcoming smile

I've been serving Holywell Spiritual Centre for some years now, Sandy and her devoted team always have a welcoming smile.  It's always a privilege to serve there.
These days Bill Paterson isn't always in the best of health
but remains equally devoted to the Centre.
Sandy and Bill complemented one another perfectly in their Spiritual work together.
In the second of two articles,

the first by accomplished healer, Janet Butler in last months newsletter
we have been looking at the rise in interest in things Spiritual at Holywell Centre, West Watford,
where two centres are now flourishing catering for all things Spiritual.

THIS FRIDAY SANDY IS PLAYING HOSTESS TO ALEXANDRA FELLOWES AND HER FLEDGLINGS
STARTS 7.30p.m.

Here's Sandy's Story:

I did all my spiritual growing up at Watford Christian Spiritualist Church. That was about 27 years ago, when I sat in development circle not knowing what on earth to expect. It has taken me on an incredible journey of self-discovery as well deepening my understanding of the workings of Spirit. I progressed through the church committee to become Vice-President there, and then doing platform work.

Bill Paterson came looking for assistance after his wife passed away and we worked together on his journey of grief to become Spiritual partners, sitting together to develop a closer connection to our Spirit friends regularly. Eventually our Guides told us that they would work with us as One. So effectively, we shared our Guides too.

For various reasons, we came away from Watford Church and, after my Mum's passing 12 and a half years ago, we started the Holywell Spiritual Centre in West Watford. It was something I had always wanted to do and it seemed that Mum's passing gave us the time and opportunity to open the Centre. Bill and I put in £200 each, which we thought would pay the rent for a couple of months, after which we hoped it would be able to survive on the donations received for the services.

It has been an amazing journey, but not all easy. Many times, we considered closing because of lack of support, but each time, Spirit told us to continue. I had always wanted a centre where we could give to people and not always be begging for money. So everything about our little Centre has been free of charge - no membership, no entrance fee - just come along, see what Spirit can do for you and enjoy the ride. Sometimes we have wondered how we could pay the rent but, by the Grace of God, we always seemed to have enough.

Many people have said that we have changed their lives, but I would always answer, ' No, you changed your own life. We just provided a place where you could come and see the world differently.' How blessed and privileged we are to be able to do that. Throughout all of this time, we have had an amazing and loyal group of supporters (from both side of life) and we still plod on. We never had any aspirations to be a large Centre, just one that has a very bright light for those truly seeking.

We wanted to show that God and Spirit have a wonderful sense of humour, a tremendous and unceasing love and compassion and an ever-listening ear. I think we've managed to achieve this and the bonus for us has been meeting so many wonderful and dedicated mediums many of whom have foregone their fees to serve our Centre and the absolute joy of watching the Newbies set out on their first steps on the path of Spiritual work. Unfortunately, Bill is not in such good health, but he still attends when he feels up to it. His humour and glorious singing voice are always solely missed when he is unable to attend.
